Co-founder and lead event director

Susan Richards

As someone who has lived in 5 different states in my adult life, one of the toughest questions anybody could ask me is: "Where are you from?" Moving to Savannah in 2012 , I've been so lucky to have planted roots in this wonderful city around the most incredible community of friends and colleagues with my family nearby.

Since starting SYE with my dear friend Emily in 2016, I have provided years of event experience to the clients we serve, but also a deep understanding of the importance of the moments that they are able to spend with their nearest and dearest on their special days. I always make it my priority to ensure my clients can also be guests at their own events, and are able to relax, enjoy, appreciate, and celebrate all of the wonderful people around them!

When I'm not creating floor plans, coordinating with our fantastic team of vendor partners, or finalizing event timelines, you can find me sipping coffee outside on my dock or spending as much time as I can with my 3 daughters and all of their sweet kiddos. That's right - I'm a proud "Sue-Sue" to SEVEN grandchildren all under 5!

Emily DeLoach

Born and raised in the Atlanta area, I started doing day-of-coordination as a side hobby for friends and their friends. I absolutely fell in love with wedding and event planning. Fast forward 17 years, I have seen and done it all! I have done beach to mountain, city to small town, local to long distance. You can put me just about anywhere, and I can plan it. Every wedding is unique, and it gives me such joy to help people have the wedding of their dreams. I could not be more blessed with the best clients and I truly work on the best team in the industry. I always learn something new from every client, event, and my incredible team. Every event always brings something new and exciting to the table because of the unique signature each client places on their day. I will forever take these pearls of knowledge along my journey as a planner.

A little more about me as a planner:

I love a good “punch list”, a rock solid timeline, and a detailed floor plan. I also enjoy building spaces with tenting, draping, lighting, and textiles. I thrive on making the whole process fun and as stress-free as possible. While I do love the planning process leading into the wedding day, I will admit my favorite part is day-of when everything (and everyone) comes together in harmony. All the months of planning syncs up, and my clients have the day of their dreams. It is incredible to watch and be a small part of. It is absolutely your day, and I will always strive to make sure you love every moment of it.

About me outside of planning:

In 2013, my husband made a major career change that brought us to Savannah. We absolutely love the playground that is Coastal Georgia. When I am not coordinating weddings and events, you can find me loving on our three kiddos. They keep us busy, laughing, and always on our toes. Life with them is full speed, and we would not have it any other way. Other loves: quality time with my husband, fun new foods, good conversation, great movies or shows, podcasts, traveling, laughter, and home projects (lately those have been kid projects that usually involve a glue gun) which make our home a “homey home” for our family. You are always invited to our home on Friday Night for Pizza & Popcorn!

Madeline Jackson

As a Lead Event Director for our ATL office and the Client Relations Coordinator for Sincerely Yours Events, I am typically the first person each client talks with to learn more about what SYE has to offer. It is so special getting to be a part of each wedding and event from the very beginning and to see a client’s vision come to life!

Born and raised in Savannah as the daughter of a wedding planner/designer, it is easy to say that the wedding industry runs in my blood. From designing florals to establishing relationships with each of our clients, I can truly say this is the second most rewarding job around! The first? Being a wife to my lovely husband Kyle and a mother to our son, Connor.

When I am not chatting with clients, you can catch me chasing around our crazy toddler, or out for a walk on the Atlanta Beltline!

Kate Hunt

I am a born and raised Savannahian with a passion for all things lifestyle, lowcountry and design. Growing up the daughter of a local real estate veteran, I have always been drawn to beautiful architecture and spaces.

In 2017, I joined the SYE team as an Assistant Events Director and grew to love all things wedding planning, design and execution. I was promoted to Lead Events Director in 2019 and have loved bringing every unique couple's vision of their wedding day to life!

When not planning, you can find me walking and shopping with a latte in hand around Downtown Savannah or somewhere outside and sunny with my husband Alex and two boys, Matthew and Banks.

There's nothing I love more than a good biscuit and seeing an event come to life. I am a born and raised Savannahian who started out thinking I would be a stage manager on Broadway. I soon found that my true passion was project and event management, turning concepts into a reality. From concerts and dance recitals to weddings and college campus events, I have planned a little bit of everything! As a daughter of a local architect and preschool teacher, I love to sketch out a floor plan, make a color coded spreadsheet, and take the stress out of wedding day. I truly believe a great event is enjoyed by both guests and hosts alike. Let the celebrating begin!

When I’m not in planning mode, you can find me in my athleisure getting my steps in chasing after my beautiful toddler, Harper and her doggy brother Winston. While she keeps me quite literally on my toes, there is nothing sweeter than hearing her belly laughs.

Kayley Fleming

Born and raised in Millen, GA, but I have called Savannah home for the last 2 years. After graduating from Georgia Southern University and Auburn University, I moved to Atlanta and began working for the Alzheimer's Association. While working with the Association, I had the opportunity to move closer to family and friends in Savannah. My love of planning and serving others always carried over into my work. As Programs Manager for the Alzheimer’s Association, I have the opportunity to help plan community events and to passionately serve those with Alzheimer’s and dementia and their families.

As Lead Event Director for SYE, I’ve been able to use my passion to help clients design their dream wedding and create memorable experiences for their guests. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that my services helped a bride to have a worry-free, beautiful wedding. I handle all of the day of details while the happy couple celebrates!

When I am not planning weddings, you can find me hanging around Savannah or on our boat with my golden, Emmy. I absolutely love traveling, spending time with my family and friends, and getting to enjoy all that the coast has to offer.

Kaitlyn Woodard

I was born and raised just across the state in Columbus, Georgia. After attending Georgia Southern University, I fell in love with Coastal Georgia and decided it could not be beat! When not in the office, you can catch me chasing the next adventure with my husband, Trent, and dog, Oliver, cozied up with a cup of coffee, or chasing the next adventure. In short, I am a coffee connoisseur by day and a New Girl fan by night.

Although I have over half a decade of “on-paper” event experience beginning in 2017, I got my true start in elementary school when I assisted one of my family members in designing her wedding, organizing details, and tasting allll the wedding cake a 10-year-old could handle. From that day on, I knew my job description would one day revolve around being a planner.

Since then, I have had the opportunity to work with brides across Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. With a background in public relations, I am all about nailing down the details, organizing spreadsheets, and keeping the conversation going. My strongest love language is acts of service, so you can catch me going above and beyond for each client I encounter!

Amelia Smith

From Jefferson, Georgia, I've now called Savannah home for 10 years now. As someone with a background in marketing and the legal world, there is nothing I love more than working with clients and making their visions come to life! I am a people person who loves to help a client achieve their dream day.

If you ask my parents they will tell you I started planning my own wedding from the day I was born, so it is only fitting that I now help brides do the same! When I'm not chatting with a client, you can find me spending time with my husband, our twins Blair and Ford, and our dog, Winston.

Clare Saunders

Being born and raised in Savannah, GA, I have always called the Lowcountry home.

During the process of planning my own wedding, I discovered my passion for the wedding industry. I am a firm believer that trends will come and go, but a classic design that is unique to each client will stand the test of time.

When I’m not dressed in black covering the details of your big day, you can find me shopping in Downtown Savannah, traveling with my fiancé, or on the boat with family, friends, and our Boykin Spaniel Rhett!

Madison Tovar

As a lifelong resident of Savannah, my love for event planning and design is influenced by the city’s irresistible charm. With a background in interior design, I love creating beautiful spaces by focusing on details and making the client's vision become a reality. I am deeply fulfilled by watching the joy of my clients as they celebrate such a special milestone and creating everlasting memories.

While event planning is my passion, my true loves are spending time and traveling with my husband, son, and our sweet pup. In my freetime, you can usually find me downtown at the local coffee shops or at the beach reading a good book.

Kelly Gearheart

As a Savannah native, I share a passion for all things coastal with my husband, Andrew who has been stationed here for 10 years. My idea of a perfect day is for us to take our golden, Honey, scooting around in the boat to the barrier islands or to our farm for a weekend getaway. If I'm not working, you can find me loving on our baby boy, Walker, thrifting, or catching up on the latest series. For the last 6 years, I've been a real estate pre-closing paralegal but I am happy to now be pursuing my passion of event planning as I take on this new role. I am looking forward to sharing my super powers for all things pertaining to detail, organization and communications for the logistical side of planning your event and as an added bonus, my friendly and outgoing personality. Can't wait to meet you!
